YES Window Company Ltd are pleased to announce the completion of a beautiful Farm house conversion in Sturminster Newton, Dorset. This project has been exciting and very involved. A lot of miles were covered but the end result is breath taking. The proud owners are now moving on to the final touches to the internals and landscaping.
The clients initially opted for handmade Oak windows to keep with the buildings traditional materials, however this proved to be too expensive due to the sheer size of the project and their commitment to other ecologically friendly but expensive energy saving systems. YES needed to find a solution and one was soon offered. The solution was to use a cheaper hardwood called Idigbo which is on par cost wise with a Sapele or Meranti, but has a much lighter colour in it raw state. YES then suggested a 3 coat Light Oak stain to get the closest look of Oak. Samples were soon made and the client was pleased with the results and agreed to proceed on that basis. This saved a huge amount of money on material cost which enabled the other equally important projects achievable. This project also used a 4 panel Sunflex SF65 door set which was supplied in Oak as Sunflex do not do a light hardwood option. The same light Oak stain was applied and the end result was a good match, good enough as you will see from the photos to be put directly next to the handmade flush sash casement windows with no problems with aesthetic differences.
The completion of the YES Window Company contract unveiled an amazing external transformation of a beautiful rural property of which the new owners will enjoy and be proud of for many years to come.
