Modular Apartment goes to Town!
At last an exiting project that we have been undertaking in a warehouse in Kent has been transported to London.
YES Window Company were given a contract to supply and install some Polyester powder coated Aluminium windows and Sunflex folding sliding doors into an apartment that was being prefabricated a large warehouse in Erith, Kent.
We were very exited about the project and enjoyed very much having involvement in design and then meetings to explain to the Architect and the Project Manager how the installation was to be done in the weeks to come.
The apartment was a very highly specified and was to be craned onto a roof area that had been purchased in Londons West end, right by the Ritz and Bond Street.
The craning was done in 3 sections and the apartment was joined together in situ. Although we had installed all the windows and doors in the warehouse, we had to leave glazing of the units until the apartment was in position in its new home on the roof.
The units were all stacked and strapped down on the floor for the craning (so as to stop the wind blowing the modules around when in the air). We only got to take in how impressive this whole project was when we finally went to the West end to put in the units and make the building completely weather tight.
We worked together well with the main contractor and from the first day of installation to the last everything went smoothly and to plan.
All of our team enjoyed this project and we look forward to being involved again in similar builds.
